You should have recieved an email with two attachments in it. One is called SOMETHING.ipa, this
is the beta build of the app. The other is called SOMETHING.mobileprovision, this tells your
device that is allowed to run this beta build.
You will need both files to get the app on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
- Open iTunes and plug in your device, but don't sync yet.
- Download both files attached to the email onto your computer, and remember where you downloaded them.
- In iTunes, click on "Applications" in the upper left column (under Music, Movies, etc). You should see a big window with application icons on it.
- Find the files on your computer that you just downloaded, and drag only the .mobileprovisioning file into the area where the icons are. You may get no feedback as you drag it in. Do not drag both files at the same time. Order is important here.
- Drag the .ipa file into the same icon section. It may ask you to replace the build that is already there. Say yes if it prompts you.
- You should now be able to see the icon for the app.
- Select your device in the left column. You will see a bunch of tabs along the top. Click on the one that says "Applications".
- Make sure that the app is checked (in this example BlockBlocker 3). Also make sure "Sync Applicaitons" is checked. If either one is unchecked, then sync will not put it on your device.
- Sync you device. After the sync, confirm that you can run the program from your device.
That's it. Run the application and email any feedback to us at
